UNFPA champions the institutionalization of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for the 2023 Sustainable Development Goals.
At the Parliament Day of the Asia-Pacific Evaluation Association, where UNFPA Evaluation Office Director Marco Segone provided the synthesis, UNFPA Philippines Country Representative Dr. Leila Joudane emphasized the importance of monitoring and evaluating policies to see if they are really impacting the lives of people, especially those who are left behind.
The event culminated in a signing of the Manila Declaration, a powerful commitment to strengthening M&E systems across the Asia-Pacific region. House Speaker Martin Romualdez assured that the House of Representatives would support the currently filed measures on institutionalizing a national monitoring and evaluation policy for the SDGs.
