Typhoon Bopha/Pablo Situation Report: 10 December 2012

As of December 10, typhoon Bopha (locally named Pablo) has left 647 dead and 780 still missing. Out of 302,586 people who remain displaced, 133,892 are currently in 172 evacuation centres. The UN has made a flash appeal to raise $65 million disaster response and recovery. Of the 75 damaged health facilities in Davao and CARAGA region, only eight remain functional. Pregnant and lactating women have no access to medical services. Health information, education and communication materials particularly on maternal and child health were provided in Agusan del Sur, Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley. Health information sessions and reproductive health medical mission are being planned with a focus on Compostela, Montevista, Monkayo and New Bataan municipalities in Compostela Valley province.
