UNFPA Philippines mourns the passing of Senator Rodolfo Biazon, a dedicated public servant and a champion of reproductive health. We wish to express our deepest sympathy to the Senator’s loved ones during this difficult time.
Senator Biazon was a strong advocate for reproductive health, and played a key role in the passage of the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health (RPRH) Law in 2012. The law guarantees that all Filipinos, especially the poorest and most disadvantaged, will have access to quality reproductive health services, including family planning.
For many years, Senator Biazon also served as chair for the Senate of the Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development Foundation, Inc. (PLCPD), which is a long-standing partner of UNFPA Philippines in promoting sexual and reproductive health and rights.
Senator Biazon's contributions to reproductive health will have a lasting impact on the lives of millions of Filipinos. Together with our partners, UNFPA will honor his memory by continuing his work in improving the lives of Filipinos. #
