Typhoon Bopha/Pablo Situation Report (27 December 2012): Hygiene kits address needs of women and girls

Some 5,500 dignity kits and hygiene kits for pregnant, lactating, and women of reproductive age have been procured to address hygiene needs in the areas affected by the typhoon. The master listing of pregnant and lactating women has been completed. The data generated will be vital in planning for targeted response to the needs of affected population, especially pregnant and lactating women.

The Cateel District Hospital in Davao Oriental has been identified as a referral point for clinical management of rape. Post Rape Treatment Kit with a capacity to serve a population of 10,000 for a three-month period has been provided to the facility. Guidelines for the prioritization of vulnerable groups in the allocation of bunk houses were also provided to the Shelter Cluster.
