Typhoon Bopha/Pablo Situation Report (03 January): Health facilities provide services but RH outreach still needed

Health centers in the four affected municipalities in Compostela Valley have resumed regular health services to the affected population but occasional rains cause flooding that prevents people from going to the facilities. Thus, medical outreach, especially for pregnant and lactating women, are still needed.

Information materials on prevention of gender-based violence (GBV) are now being utilized by the police and health officials to raise awareness on the issue, especially in the context of a humanitarian situation.

Hygiene kits being provided by UNFPA continue to be one of the key relief items needed by the affected population, especially women and girls.
