UNFPA, the United Nations Population Fund, is one of the leading United Nations and international development agencies with a strong mandate, country-level presence and operational capacity to promote women’s empowerment and gender equality.

From 2019 to 2020, UNFPA will continue supporting the operations of safe spaces for women and girls to act as a platform to promote the empowerment of women and adolescent girls especially in relation to their health, protection, and economic empowerment to ensure their active and meaningful participation in Marawi City’s post-conflict recovery and rehabilitation, conflict prevention, and peacebuilding.

In relation to its 2019-2020 support to Marawi’s recovery and rehabilitation, UNFPA seeks to obtain the services of a communications firm that will be responsible for conceptualizing, developing and producing communication products for three different audiences, namely - Muslim women and adolescent girls, Muslim Religious Leaders, and Muslim men and adolescent boys.

The firm will determine the most appropriate product for each audience through research, pre-testing and post-testing of the communication products. The communication products will reinforce the awareness raising sessions in the safe spaces for women and girls and in outreach activities to villages/barangays. The awareness raising activities aim to encourage community members to critically reflect on discriminatory social norms and attitudes that perpetuate gender inequality, gender-based violence, and harmful practices such as child marriage.
